Smokey, a mother cat with soft gray fur, and her six cute kittens found a new place to live in Arlington. They were brought here from a shelter by Asa, a cat lover who helps cats. Thus, their new home is filled with love and fun!
Welcoming the Family
Asa made a lovely and peaceful spot for Smokey and her kittens to relax and feel safe. Smokey felt much happier here and took great care of her little ones. She fed them well and kept them clean, and you could tell she was happy because she sometimes stuck out her tongue while her kittens were eating.
Smokey ate a lot to make sure her kittens grew strong and healthy. She had six cans of food every day! When Asa came to visit, Smokey enjoyed taking a little break to stretch and have some time for herself.
A Calm Mother of Six
Asa thought Smokey was an amazing mom. She was very calm, even when her kittens were picked up and cuddled. The kittens got bigger and started to show their own little personalities.
Meet the Kittens
Five of the kittens were gray and had names like tasty foods:
– Chorizo
– Pepperoni
– Salami
– Prosciutto
– Pastrami
But there was one kitten who was different. Her name was Spam, and she was black and white. She was very playful and liked to be the center of attention.
A Dog Who Love Cats
Asa knew it was a lot of work for Smokey to take care of six kittens, so does her dog, Kona, who did what she could to help. Kona loved cats and was very gentle with the kittens. Smokey was happy to see Kona helping and seemed to trust her with her babies.
One time, Kona playfully took a kitten, and Smokey didn’t mind at all. As a result, Asa could feel Smokey was glad to have Kona around. Spam, the playful kitten, liked to also get attention from Kona too.
Love Goes Beyond Species
As the kittens grew and became more playful, they loved playing with Kona. Asa called Kona “auntie Koko” because everyone loved her. With Kona’s help, Smokey could also take some time to relax.
Forever Home in View
When the kittens were old enough, they would go to new homes. Smokey would also find a family who would love her very much. Asa shared this sweet story with us, and we’re thankful for that.
